An important company in the agribusiness segment, it operates in 90 countries and positions itself as a provider of tailor-made solutions. In Brazil, it connects buyers and suppliers through a financial, commercial and logistical solution, operating from the origin, logistical flow to the export and/or national commercialization of grains and oilseeds.
Since its foundation, it has been a visionary and innovator in the agribusiness sector, with a close relationship with customers. Initially offering storage services for agricultural commodities independently, and then, as the business matured, the company evolved its offer to integrated logistics services, enabling access to corridors from the farm to the port.
Challenge
The objectives of the project were very clear: to have operating profit and support to the business area. And consequently, solve a series of problems generated by connecting to the transactional database that generated slow data processing, delay in making information available, ingestion of poorly structured data and generation of repeated data.
These difficulties caused slowness and delay in the generation of various reports that strongly impacted the daily decision-making of the trading area, which are based on information from international financial quotes.
What has been proposed
To create the necessary data structure and achieve the customer’s objectives, Dedalus proposed the creation of a reference architecture contemplating the best practices according to Snowflake and made available its Center of Excellence (CoE) and its experts to perform an assisted POC, where the customer also had the support of Snowflake during the execution of the transactional database ingestion tests, processing time and data extraction from Power BI to dashboard creation.
Perceived gains
The manager of the intelligence and information area has the vision of making the company increasingly data driven, in this way he sees that delivering to the internal business areas, starting with the financial, trading and logistics areas, information in near real-time, provides an experience of access to information that delivers objective decision-making. The evaluation is to seek an increase in the quality of results in time efficiency, volume of the quantity of commodities and values involved in decisions.
